Delhi MCD mayor elections live: Called off for 3rd time
Delhi MCD Mayor Election Live Updates: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi will hold elections for mayor, deputy mayor and standing committee members today. Officials have made arrangements for security, including deployment of civil defense volunteers and ex-servicemen. The 135 councillors of AAP have written to the MCD's presiding officer seeking to bar the aldermen from voting, claiming that nominated councillors cannot vote according to the Constitution and Delhi Municipal Act. The BJP's behavior before the mayoral election is alleged to have shown an intention to influence and manipulate the process.
