    Two years of Triple Talaq Law: To be celebrated as Day of Rights of Muslim Women

    Two years ago, the Modi-led BJP government nullified the Triple Talaq Law. In the second year of its enactment, the government has decided to call for August 1 as the Day of Rights of Muslim Women The government's Muslim outreach ahead of the UP polls comes with the announcement by the Ministry of Minority Affairs of celebrating Muslim Women Rights Day in India tomorrow and acknowledge the enactment of a law prohibiting triple talaq. The legislation classifying triple talaq as a criminal offense came into effect on August 1, 2019. The opposition has heavily lashed out on the government saying that why only Muslim women have to be celebrated for such a day, and why not every woman in the country. Watch!
