    Blinken visit to India: US Secretary of State praises Indian democracy | India Upfront

    On India Upfront, with Rahul Shivshankar, we discuss the visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a meeting with representative of Indian civil society in the capital city Delhi. He met leaders from various denominations, leaders who in the past have opposed the Modi Government on press and religious freedom. Issues like CAA, press freedom, farmers' protest, love-jihad and violence against minorities were raised in the meeting with Blinken today. He praised India's democracy under the regime of NDA. Blinken said, 'India and US believe in human dignity, equality of opportunity, the rule of law, fundamental fret including freedom of religion and belief'. We believe that all people deserve to have a voice in their government. India has a vibrant and fair electoral system, he further added.
